INTERACTIVE LIVERY

I call this the 2012 Le Mans interactive livery. Main colours are: matt black, and glossy white and yellow. The contrast between the colours themselves, but also between matt and glossy make for a design that will stand out even from a distance. The black and white represent the day & night of the 24h race and the yellow represents the sunset/sunrise. Also the black, white and yellow are true Dunlop colours and true racing colours which really suit the Ferrari too. At first glance the design might not look different. However, the design includes some QR codes. The idea is to have codes for the Dunlop website, as well for the JMW Motorsport team. So when a picture is taken by smartphone, one can be directed to their websites. (And might even get the latest updates on the race!) Thus, it will be interesting for spectators and photographers to make pictures of the car. It will draw lots of attention.

@nudar: it's possible that the url in the QR code is wrong.
I searched for one from Dunlop, but actually I used it as an example.
I expect that on the real livery the sponsors and team would decide which url (or url's) they would like to use.
I imagine they could use it for:
- dunlop
- dunlop motorsport
- jmw motorsport (direct link to a page with the latest team news and/or updates from the race) -

Waiting for the car to come in the pit to scan the code on the roof...
seems legit.

haha.. well often there either is a huge flag or logo on the roof, you can't see those either... lol.
But I wanted to do something similar with the roof... so I did with the huge code. As for visibility,
often there are cameras above the pits, on the grandstand and on helicopter or blimp.. -

Ah i understand. So good luck for the competition!
P.S. That QR on the roof is for the Smartphone-Users with an Helicopter, right? :-) -

good question. I thought of that too.
Actually, lots of fans also see the cars in the parade prior to the race, so they will take pictures then.
Also, the professional photographers will take pics during practices and race along the track but also in the pits.
They will be able to clearly get the qr codes on the pictures. I think one can also scan the qr code when aiming your
phone at the code on a picture.

How to take a picture with a smartphone when the car drives by with over 200 km/h :-) Not sure if its good usability.
